when you rolled down the steep hillside--hit by shrapnel from an enemy grenade. I know it must have hurt you very badly because you let out a long, sustained scream. It didn't hurt but a minute, though, and you were gone from that miserable place.
You couldn't know, but only two of us were NOT hit. You, unfortunately, were among the other 39. It says in the Project that your remains were not recovered--I don't understand that at all. Over the 58 years since your number came up, I have thought of you very often. You were my buddy then, and you still are! Bruce

Keywords: I'm trying to locate any person who may remember my Dad. He recently passed away and all I can really confirm based on his letters, photos, and a few military documents is that:
He was drafted in mid 1950 and sent to Camp Polk for initial training and then shipped out to Hokaido, Japan. While in Hokaido he trained at Camp Crawford and Camp Monty Strong prior to his unit shipping out to Korea. I do know his was in Japan Thanksgiving 1951. Following that date no more pictures or information was available. I belive the unit transferred to Korea and took up positions in the Old Baldy area. Any information would be helpful
Thanks in advance

Comments: I am the daughter of Henry Duke from Louisville, Ky. I don't know much about my Daddy because he passed away when I was 11 and all I really know about his time in the army is the mention of "Pagan Raiders" and honestly he didn't talk to any of us about his time in the army. I have heard stories that he was found lying in bed with his gun on occasion and had a tough time dealing with it all when he came home but he was 44 when I was born and I only had 11 years with him. I am hoping that someone knows and remembers him and could help me learn more about my daddy. Thank you for any info you might have!

Comments: My father died in 1975 due to complications after he served in the Korean war project. I was 12 years old at the time and really never knew my father. I'm hoping and praying that someone will remember him. I beleive he was part of the radio relay team. If you know anything about him or have pictures, please let me know as I am trying to piece my life together.

God Bless

Comments: My father, Donald Stevens (April), was wounded at Mung Dun Ni, on June 22, 1953 and awarded his 1st bronze star. My Dad has passed, I am trying to find out about any battle at Mung Dun Ni and can't find anything. He was in E company, 179th.
What was the 179th doing from 1952 - 1954?
Does anyone remember him? Thank you,
