Comments: I am looking for anyone who remembers my father. He was Vaclav Zengler. He was a medic. Everyone called him Vic. I never really knew my dad. He served two tours in Vietnam after I was born in the 60s, but he died when I was five. Any information or memories will be great.

Anyone know this patch?

John Curran wrote on 2010-05-12 15:38:42.0

Comments: My dad fought in Korea. His dress jacket has patch that probably explains a lot about where his unit was and where they fought. Can't seem to find out much about it. The patch is in a shield that has a black background. Inside a white star is a colorful Red Indian Chief? Anyone know anything about this patch?

Comments: I am the grandaughter of PFC James H. McGaha. He is needing help with dates and names of Battles. He knows that he joined in 1950 and went to Camp Polk in Louisiana from September 1950 to March 1951. Then he went by ship from April 1 to April 30 to Hokkaido,Japan in 1951. From there they went to Korea in December 1951. He also says that while his unit shiped out Dec. 1 to Korea he was in the hospital and was unable to go until 10 days later. If anyone has any info about battles they were in please email me.

PFC James Meyer KIA Battle for Erie (Hill 191) June 14, 1952 - I Co. 3rd Bat. 180th, 45th div

Clifford Roberti wrote on 2009-11-16 12:33:28.0

Comments: I am doing some research to learn about my grandfather, James Meyer, who was KIA on June 14th, 1952 during a mission called Operation Counter. He was killed capturing Hill 191, which was part of the Outpost Erie hill complex. I don't know much about my grandfather other than his unfortunate and untimely death in the Korean conflict.

If anybody has any information about my grandfather or served with him, I would love to hear from you. ANY information would be greatly appreciated.

PFC Meyer served in the I Company, 3rd Battalion of the 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division. Through my research I have found that his remains were never identified so I am also in the proces of helping the Department of the Army identify his remains through DNA testing. I hope that works out so he can finally have a proper burial in Arlington. Thank you for your time and hope you can lead me in the right direction.

Sincerely, Cliff Roberti clifford.roberti@gmail.com

He had been with the first Cav until we replaced that Div.He was living in Hawaii the last I heard and had a little girl but that was back in the 1950's.
