Comments: Did my TOD at Camp Page in Chunchon. I was in the radio platoon with Sgt Jones, good guy after all. Spent a lot of time as 1st Sgt's driver and mail clerk. Bill Southern was a hell of an E-7. Got booted out of the HQ when "Snorkel and Otto" took over. Cliff Branch was CO, late AG of Alabama. Made lots of friends, Rod Fitz, Mark Silverblatt, Jim Goodman, Bob Petrusso, Warren Andrews, Bob Weide, Robert Lavallee, Freddy Rodriguez, Jeff Zilhaver and many others. I am still in touch with Tony Lamb and Chuck Cottom. Radke won't communicate and George Powell lived here in Gainesville for awhile but has moved away. Glad I was there would not do it again.

Keywords: Kimchi, ramen, mokolai, Katusas, B-Clubs, Mount Useless(I never climbed it), tea houses, driving to Seoul and back numerous times on that two lane mountain road, going on field excersises to Wonju and Sok Cho, Sgts Craigmiles and Schrade, doing photography in the photo lab, eating out in the "vil".

Comments: I went from Japan (Yokohama) to Korea (Inchon) aboard the USS General Mitchell on January 23, 1958. Billeted at Poop Young Nee until Camp Page was finished. We wore the 1st ROK Army patch on one sleeve and the 8th Army patch on the other. I started the special services office there and brought 6 bowling alleys up to Chunchon from Seoul on an Honest John flat-bed trailer. I also started other sports groups/activities at Camp Page. I did the MARS phone patches from Page to Tokyo early on. If anyone can remember any of this, please get in touch.

Also wanted to know locations of our radio sites "No Name, Nameless & Kathy". I can't remember how we got there, but I do remember the East coast & Sok Cho.

We use to go out in the boonies to a place called Chiporie (not sure of the spelling), but we went past camp casey the 7th inf div. was there at the time we crossed the 38th parallel on the way to where we set up our radio truck. If anyone out there knows where its at or around would like to hear from you. I cant find Chiporie on my map or Korea. There was a dinky village down the road from us. The south korean army was on manuvers in oct 64 around us. Thanks Ghost

Comments: I'm trying to figure out what our dad did and what unit he was in with the Army in Korea in 1954-55. He never told us his battaltion/company/regiment, and we have no documentation. I know one of his service ribbons is the U.N. service ribbon. Anyone who might be familiar with Signal Corps graduate from Camp Gordon, GA. in 1954-55, or units assigned in-country those years, please contact me. I know that he was usually in a radio shack and rather isolated and handled primarily coded transmissions. But we simply have NO records indicating a unit, battalion, company, or anything else.

Thank You,

David Sauls
