Comments: I am look for a Puerto Rican man by the name of Aton Pagan. I am not even sure if thats how you spell it. My grandfather just turned 70, and he is a army veteran, and was stationed in Panama during the Korean war. In Panama, his best friends name was Aton Pagan. He told me that he would give anything if he could just talk to Aton one more time before he dies.
He won't do anything about it, so I figure I will. Aton Pagan was in the army, then left to play for the St Loius Cardinals, then went back into the army. Aton should be about 70 years old now. I would give more description, but my grandfather, Gerald Duffie, doesn't like to talk about it, and he hasn't seen Aton since 1955. 48 years ago. If anyone can help me find Aton, please email me at masterchief343@hotmail.com. I'm only twelve, so be gentle with the language :)

The sources of information I have is my Dad's hororable discharge card
and a letter that he mailed to his sister from Korea dated Feb. 15, 1953.
His name was Fred George Hetzel (Aug. 10 1933 - February 09, 1961).
To the best of my knowledge, he went by "Freddie."
In the letter I have, he mentions "returning to the 501st"
On his discharge card, it reads: Most significant duty assigned-
Hq & Hq Det 301st C/R Bn A P O 909.
His service no.: RA 16 367 504
Component and Branch or Class: RA SIG C
Grade-Rate-Rank and Date of Appointment: CPL(T), 29 Oct 53
Date of Separation: 10 June 54
The only only thing I was told, was that he was in Recon. There's
several stories about him, but each story-teller has their own version!
However, all of their endings seem the same, in that something really
awful happened to my Dad.
..one more thing, in the letter he wrote, he mentioned that from the
501st, they were transfering people over to Heartbreak Ridge.
Once again, Thank you, soooo much!
