WHAT IS THE ENGINEER CONSTRUCTION BATTALION? |
| SHAWN HOOD wrote on April 22, 2010 CITY AND STATE: LEXINGTON IN UNIT: 982 ENGR.CONST.BN. SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: My grandfather is deceased but I came across of of his plaques and it says: CPL. DELBERT A. HOOD ENL. 10/30/51 982 ENG.CONST.BN TO LENA and DAD It is personalized to his parents, but it has alot of pictures of military patches and ribbons around the edge. I was curious to know if it was given to all enlisted men? And what did the 982 Engineer Construction Battalion do? thanks in advance for any help!
