Comments: For those of you that are trying to piece together some of your loved one's past - what the war was like for them - I highly recommend this book. My husband's friend, Medic, Freddie Wolf, served in the Korean War yielding him 100% disabled, and was declared as one of the most severely wounded soldiers to have lived. He died on Veteran's Day 2006. In his memory, our Pastor gave us a book that included an interview of our war hero and others: "BACK DOWN THE RIDGE," by W. L. White. Readers' Digest also has an article: "Back Down To The Ridge," February, 1953. Your loved one did not lay down their life in vain! When comes Eternity, you will be together again! "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." - Gospel: John 15:13

Comments: I don't understand the order of the army divisions, etc, so I am using the only info I have. We are looking for anyone who knew Raymond Crandall who fought on Pork Chop Hill and I believe was wounded at that time. Most of his records have been lost. Info from his brother is he was in the 7th cavalry, Indian division. Raymond never spoke about his service and had mental health problems probably related to it. His children, (one is my husband) would love to know anything anyone can tell them about that time. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

He never talked about his time in Korea, and I may never know why, or how he earned the Bronze Star. He always told me it was for "marksmanship".
If anyone remembers my father, please contact me. Heather
