Ramming the MIssouri?

Comments: My father Thomas Edward Flynt was onboard from '50 to '52 and remembers ramming the Missouri when transferring ammo. I am reminded of this becuase I am currently watching 'Mr. Roberts'. My dad says swears that whoever wrote 'Mr. Roberts' had to have served on the Diphda.

Comments: I have some pictures of the ship and some of the crew taken during the period of mid 1951-1955. I served in the deck gang at first and then as a Storekeeper.

Comments: I came out of Boot Camp in San Diago at 16 years old in 1952 onto the old "Rust Bucket" and learned how to get "seasick", chip paint and paint. Also the cruises we made and what it was like for those that had relitives on her, I may have seen, ate with them or even known them. The Diphda was built for WWII and scrapped about 1997.

Comments: My Dad served aboard the Diphda during the Korean War. I have some photos, but know nothing about them. Would love to have them explained. Comments: My Father, Robert A. Burdick served as store keeper on board diphda 4-46 thru 11-46 he passed away 4-03 . I give him a picture of his ship about a year prior to his death. He sobbed like I have never seen him do. He said it was the greatest gift anyone had ever given him. Diphda lives on thru me his son, Robert B. Burdick

Comments: My father, Hughdon Lamar Roberson, served as gunner on the USS Diphda. He was called Robbie by most of his friends. I am in search of anyone that might have known my father.
