Sams was a Marine and servied in Korea with the Canine Corp I was told. He died when I was 4 years old so I didn't get to hear much. I was going through some old papers of my mother's and found a Sacred Order of the Golden Dragon card with his name on it. It was dated November 4, 1945 onboard the USS Merrick. He was typically close mouthed as many vets are and I'm just want to know more if I can. Looking for anyone who may have served with him. He's looking for JAMES "JIMMY" BERSETTE (spelling may be incorrect) who was an electrician aboard ship. My Dad saw him Viet-Nam when the Merrick came over in 1966-1967; on his way home from 'Nam, flight stopped in Chicago, he called James Bersette, who was working as a recruiter, and they had a drink.
