I don't recall the name of his ship that he said he was on. I loved him very much and I am thinking about writing a memoir about him. Any information anyone could give me about him would be so great. His name Was Sydney Thomas Jones, but he also went by Sid and maybe even his last name. I don't know what exactly he sailors went by name wise. He was a machinist mate. He got a Purple Heart. Made 2 med cruises. Have photos of the collision with the Kankakee on the 54 Med cruise and of a major flight deck crash around the same time. About 6 planes involved. Some were tossed overboard.
