Comments: My dad made a trip to Korean on the USS Philppine Sea when the war first started in 1950. He was in the air wing. I believe he was in the F9F Phanters (VF-111 or VF-112).
His name and rank was: Warren C. Heddy AEC
Does anyone remember him?

Comments: I am trying to gather information about the air combat operations of USN squadrons in Korea. In case of VF-112 I am especially interested in encounters with MiGs during the November 1950 strikes on the Yalu bridges. VF-112s encounter with MiGs 10 November is mentioned in official records, but I am interested in anything further on that encounter or any others by VF-112 or any sdn in Philippine Sea/CVG-11 at that time. Any info, first hand or not, would be helpful.

On March 29 1951 he was transfered along with Air Group 11 to the Vally Forge for the trip back to the states. If any one remembers him please contact me, his son.

Korean Encore
Hi,
I was aboard the Phil Sea With VF-112 during the cruise that was called
the "Korean Encore" (cruise book title). Did Mostly mess cooking and
compartment cleaning for that cruise. I went to AT-A school after that,
and made the next cruise aboard the Kearsarge.
