I was one of the first of the regular navy guys in the squadron. I was with the unit on both cruises on the Boxer and the Kearsarge. After returning from the Kearsarge cruise I was assigned to VP-48 and returned for another tour of duty to Korea. I was one of the red shirt gang of ordancemen, along with Bill Larkin,Smiley Shy, Jimmie Jones, Ray Peveto, and others Would like to hear from any of us senior young men that are still around.
