LOOKING FOR INFO ON DAVID ELLENBERGER, CWO |
| MARY ANDERSON wrote on May 28, 2010 CITY AND STATE: HOWELLS NE UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: I am hoping to find someone who may have known my grandfather, David T Ellenberger. He was captured in Nov. of 1950 and released in late 1953. My grandfather was a medic and that is kind of all I know. He never talked about what happened, I always wanted to ask but we were told by my parents not to bring it up with him. My grandfather passed away in 1995-I am trying to learn more about my grandparents and I would love to hear anything anyone may know about him and what he went through. Thank you for any information. I also want to just say thank you all for your service and sacrifice for our country. Keywords: Pyok-Dong, Camps 4 and 5, 19th infantry 24th Division |

JAMES PATRICK MCGUIRE |
| SHEILA MCGUIRE-APPELLO wrote on September 14, 2009 CITY AND STATE: YORK SC UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: His name was James Patrick McGuire, a sergeant in BCompany, 2nd Chemical Mortar Battalion, 8th army. We know he was captured near Unsan, Korth Korea on Nov. 2, 1950. My father never spoke of him, survived the war, married and had 12 children. There was a picture of him in our living room and we showed up for every memorial. He was a ghost. I understand he tried many times to get files from the military and were told they were burned. We now know they weren't and are following due process under the Freedom of Information Act to retrieve anything we can on his capture and death. We would like to give this gift to our father - edited - of course, and we understand any account offered despite its graphics are welcomed to us, but we would like to know just the same. Any information on him please forward to me, warmest and deepest respect, sheila mcguire appello Keywords: Sergeant in B Compan 2nd Chemical Mortar Battalian 8th Army died - pril 30, 951 - Status POW |
