Comments: My uncle, LT Lemuel L. English went missing in action 11-27-1950 in Korea. He was a member of the 2nd Inf. DIV, 38 INF, 2 BN, F CO. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who may have known him. I never got to meet him, and my dad had a hard time talking about him, so I don't know that much about him.

Comments: Looking for anyone that may have been in PW camp with my dad. I know for certain the he was in Camp 5 for awhile, he was in the reactionary camps and was moved around several times. I know he was on the Death March. What camps were the reactionary camps? Does anyone recognize his name? He passed away 13 years ago and I would love to learn more about what happened to him during the War. He never spoke about it. Please help if you can. Thanks.

Any info on Sgt. John (Jack) Morris Jr., III

Gary Morris wrote on 2003-03-15 22:51:28.0

Comments: My name is Gary Morris. My brother Sgt. John (Jack) C. Morris, Jr., in "E" Company, 19th. Infantry Regiment of the 24th. Infantry Division. He was listed on the "944 List" and date of him being killed was 10/8/1950. He was involved in the "Death March of the 200". I'm his only living survivor now, as both our parents are deceased and neither of us have siblings. What I would like to find out is if there is anyone that remembers my brother who I may get in contact with. At the time of his death I was 5 years old, but have fond memories of him as a child. I would like to find out anything I could of where he was killed, and maybe someday be able to have his body brought home. But mostly, I just would like to talk to someone who may have known him. Anything you can assist me with is appreciated.

Comments: I would like to know if anyone was in the same POW camp with Sgt. Clarence Young, 5th RCT, Hawaii. He attempted 3 escapes and failed every time, once attempted to swim the Yalu River. He was a trouble maker in every camp he was in and was one of the last POW to be repatriated. In one of his attempted escapes he led some officers but all were captured again. For all his attempted escapes he should receive a decoration but we need witnesses to verify his accounts.

before that that I was actually captured (Oct 31 1950). I was interned
at "Death Valley" and Camp 5. I was also interned at prison camp at
Pyongyang. My nickname was "pappy". I was released Sept 18, 1953.

I am looking for any info regarding my Uncle, and name sake,
PFC George E. Kessler. He was captured at the Battle of the CH'ONGCH'ON
on 28 NOV 1950. I believe he was in either K or L Company. I am also
not sure which battalion.

He was reported to have died of appendicitis in a POW camp in FEB 1951.
His body was sent back in JAN 1956. Looking for anyone who knew him
before, during or after his capture.

Although I am not certain, I believe he was held captive in the prison
camp known as "Death Valley". It is possible he was held at "Camp
7" or one of the "temporary camps" also but I believe less likely.

He was with the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25 Infantry Division. He was
born in Warick, Virginia.

His service number is as follows: RA 13345995.
