Comments: I'm still seeking any information on my father (James L. Sayre) (Jim Sayre) in the Korean War. He told me very few stories about it. He mentioned that he wasn't old enough to get into the military so he had to lie about his age. Would this make tracking his record difficult? As far as I know he still gave them the correct name.

Thanks a lot for any info. James Leonard Sayre On Thu, 23 Apr 1998 "James Sayre Jr." Email addresswrote:

I greatly appreciate it, thanks!

Comments: I am trying to determine if my father was a Korean POW. He died 3 years ago and before he died said he was a POW and he was tortured and then refused to talk about it anymore. Is there a list somewhere of POWS so I can verify his story? Thank you so much for your help!

Comments: I got that name When I was unable to fly because of a surplus of Gunners.

In 8th Bomb Sqdn.

They gave me a crew of Koreans and a large truck and we hauled Fuel for the K8 in the winter of 51. Good thing as my pilot Lt Qwinn and navigator were shot down and captured soon after arriving there.

I transfered to 13th and got my 50 missions there. Shot down on 38th mission but not capatured. Wondering what happened to Lt Quinn?

Looking for any Information on Major Kassel M. Keene

RAYMOND (RAY) Sestak wrote on 2003-03-05 04:31:11.0

Comments: I am looking for any information on Major Kassel M. Keene. Major Keene's B-29 was shot down on November 19, 1952. The crew is believed to have safely bailed out on and near Cho'Do Island. Several accounts concerning Major Keene have surfaced over the years. The hardcover book "Soldies of Misfortune" indicates that Major Keene was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in July of 1953 for assaulting a fellow prisoner, and was not to be affected by repatriation. I would appreciate any information from anyone that may have any information concerning the whereabouts of Major Kassel M. Keene. For more information, please visit the website http://home.att.net/~myron.sestak Thank you.

I find this hard to believe but our family wasn't aware of him being in
the National Guard either. Could you help or even direct me to find

I have some other information for you. He had once told me that he
was a photographer in the air force and that
the plane was shot down.

Three other men including my father were captured and placed in
a room.

My father said one by one the men were taken out, leaving my father
for last. Apparently my father escaped, but the others didn'tand that
is all I can recall of what my father had told me.

Bradley, listed as died while missing 12-31-1953. Where was he
captured, what camps, how do we know he died, when were the US
authorities notified and by whom?

1LT Ralph Porter Bradley was with the 8th Bomb Sq, 3rd Bomb Group (L)
as a navigator from 22 April 1951 thru 16 June 1951. On June 13, 1951
he was declared missing in action and dropped from rolls 16Jun51.

It shows 22 combat missions, missing on the 22nd.

I was only 2 1/2 years old when we lost him. I really would like to
know if anyone remembers him or his crew members. Any information would
help me put togther his family history as well as mine.

Thank you for your assistance.
