Comments: Dear fellow Korea War Veterans:

Come one come all to the greatest ever Canadian Korea Veterans Association’s 10th Biennial Convention and Reunion Hosted in Edmonton, Alberta Canada, September 5-September 8th, year 2002.

Plan yourselves a fantastic Canadian/Alberta holiday around this Reunion. Visit the Magnificent Canadian Rockies, the Columbia Ice Fields, visit the world famous resorts of Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper. Plan a trip north to Alaska or a pacific Coast Cruise then please return to the City with the Worlds Largest Mall, The City of Champions, The Klondike City, the City hosting the Greatest Reunion in the new millennium, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

All Veterans from the 21 Countries who served in the Korean War or subsequent to the Cease-Fire are welcome to attend, as well as spouses, or other family members and interested friends (KVA Membership not required). It will be a great opportunity to meet old comrades and make new friends with whom we share a common bond.

This is our first early warning letter and we are asking you, the recipients of this letter, to please pass the news on to your unit, other units and comrades.

My co-chairman Lee Power, President of Klondike City Unit #21 and I extend a cordial invitation to all who wish to participate in our reunion

Comments: My father, Reginald J Wilkes served with the 25th Royal Canadian Ordnance Corp in 1951-52 in Korea. He supported The PPCLI and the R22R (Vandoo's) as a supplytech/driver. I am trying to locate a Korean translator he became very good friends with and eventually ran into a mine field to rescue him. After "Kim" was take to the nearby aid station (nationality unknown - location unknown) my father lost track of him. To this day my father talks of this man and wonders if "Kim" survived. If anyone has served with my father or knows of this "Kim" gentleman and his status, please e-mail me with any details, I am trying to arrange a reunion with the man my father saved the life of. Thank you, Peter Wilkes Canadian Navy Medic
