| DOUGLAS RICE wrote on July 11, 2005 City and State: Unit: Service or Relationship: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: I am collecting personal stories from soldiers who served during the Korean War. My cousin, PFC Ernest Edge, served with the 23rd Inf. Regt. and was KIA on May 18, 1951. If I am able to collect enough stories, I hope to write a book. I would love to hear any stories from the brave men of France who served along side the 23rd Inf. Regt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keywords: |

Service or Relationship: ARMY VETERAN - KOREA Comments: French Friends: Ramon Gras, Luc Duby, Sgt. and Chef Manual Avila. I have lost and/or forgotten many of their names. I had several conversations with Colonel Monclar in his quarters. The Colonel usually operated his battalion headquarters from a frontline company. He served me some of his personal wine once--I was just a corporal at the time.
