Comments: I was with the first group of airman to arrive at the newly created squadron, the 1859th AACS Mobile Comm Sq at Johnson AS ,Japan in early October 1951. By February 1952, the 1859th had become the 1st AACS Sq Mobile and had close to 400 men including seven officers. 26th of February was the day that 80% of the squadron was on orders with new assignments, all over Korea, Japan and places I just can't remember. Yes, the 1st become the back bone of the Air Force in providing the necessary communication tools needed, then and now. My entire military career was spend with AACS squadrons and enjoyed working with men dedicated in given their best know how. So many names have been forgotten but their faces will aways remain in my mind.
