Comments: My father, Eugene Kemp, appeared in the Flashback

of his F-86. He passed away in 2004 and is sorely
missed. I was wondering if anyone had any stories
regarding his service in Korea. He was a very quiet
man regarding his service and I would like to have
some information for our family.

Thank you.

Comments: A gentleman with the last name of DAVIS was asking about the tail number of Maj. Geo Davis A/C when he was lost. It was an F-86 E number 12689. He was our squadron CO from Nov 1951 to Feb 10 1952. The A/C crew chief was S/SGT H. Bischoff and The A/C armorer was S/Sgt T Nagle.
My assigned A/C was 91292 was parked next to the 689 but was damaged with a 37 mm round in the wing at the fuel filling cap--unexploded. As I was in the same tent with S/Sgt Nagle we became good friends and I helped him out with duties.------Bob Lawrence

MAJ. GEORGE DAVIS'S F-86E #51-2752

CITY AND STATE: SALINE MI

UNIT: 2ND MARDIV

SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: MARINE VETERAN

Comments: I am building a large scale model of Maj. George Davis's F-86E #51-2752... and need help.

There seems to be no photographs of this aircraft! Major Davis was shot down and killed by a Mig-15 on 10 February 1952. At the time he was the leading Korean War ace credited with 14 air victories in a very short period of time. For this he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

I have modeled aircraft for nearly 30 years and have accumulated a great deal of data and photos on the F-86 in general and the Korean War era birds in particularly and have NEVER seen a photo or a model of Major Davis's aircraft. In light of this man's record this is a tragic injustice. I would very much like to rectify this with a museum quality reproduction of his mount however I need help.

We know from his widow that Davis named his aircraft "Doris" but has no pictures to confirm personal markings, kill stars/symbols or unit badges. There must be a photo taken by ground crew, another pilot or other support personnel. If anyone has any information that might help in honoring this outstanding courageous pilot it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Michael Caulk

Comments: I am researching my uncle, Captain (later Major) Pete Fernandez. He died in 1980 under ignominous circumstances and has been entirely ignored by television documentaries, biographers, etc. I am setting up a web page as a chronicle to his life and death, and am looking for anyone who flew or served with Pete. I'm interested not only in Air Force buddies, but anyone else who flew with him afterwards, in the 60s and 70s, when he was piloting decrepit multi-engine planes out of Miami International Airport's "Corrosion Corner."
