Comments: I was a member of the 3rd Air Police Sqdn., at Johnson Field, Japan, when the unit moved from Yokato Air Base to Johnson. The 35th Fighter wing was to receive the F-80 and Johnson's runway was too short so the flying units swapped with the 35th going to Yokato and the 3rd moving to Johnson. When the Korean War started in June 1950 I was in the first group of USAF personnel to go to Korea. I remained in Korea through October1951. I was injured on July 18, 1950, while guarding a convoy between K-2 and Taegu, South Korea. Would like to hear from anyone who was at Johnson or K-2. Thanks, Jim (Big AL) Allen.
