49th Comm Sqdn. Misawa 53

Comments: Arrived at Misawa April of 53. 49th FBW assigned there along with the 39th Air Division. Air Police, Food Service, Motor Pool etc. all had been assigned the 49th designation. Served there until Nov 55. Also worked at the Airmans Club as Night Manager and M.C. of the shows. Might have met some of the ex K-2 airman. Believe also the 8th FB group - 4th FIS squadron moved there also.

Comments: I SERVED IN THE WING INTELLIGENCE HQ, HQ SQUDION, I WAS AT K-2, FROM SEPT, 1952, UNTIL 1953. Comments: All of dad's records were burned. I am trying to find anyone who knew him. He enlisted into the Army Air Corps in 1941. He was at Scott Field, Ill in Aug where he took radio and Air navigation. Then he was at Luke Field in phoenix, Arz. He became a piolet at the ripe old age of 19. He did heavy bombardment command and was stationed in the Aleutian islands. He flew B-52 & B-29 over Japan. He was a squadron comander of the 49th fighter bomber wing from Nov. 1951 untill May 1952. He was relieved of duty by Capt. Edgar Hager. He was assigned to the Personnel Processing group, Fort Mason,Calif. then the 2nd Communication ,Construction Squadron McClellan Air force Bace, Calif. If you think you might have known him or have any information about him please contact me. Time is short and I want to get as much information as possible before everyone has passed on.

Comments: I worked in the Motor vehicle Sq, & I helped to open the 1st Service Club, Miss Climans was the lady in charge. I was with the little country music band, We opened the show for Roy Accuff when he came over. I was there 1951 1952, went to Eglin AFB for there. Got out of the Air Force in June 1955. Played Music in Florida also. I only servied 4 yrs air force, but I servied 16 in the Army. Cold war 1948 Austria, Korea 51-52, Germany 1960, France 64, Viet Nam 66-67 Germany 70-74 retired march 1974, contact me for fun.

JOSEPH 'FRENCHY' DALMON

Comments: Comments: Searching for anyone who may remember my uncle, Joseph "Frenchy" Dalmon. He was shot down on June 21st, 1951 and that's all I know. There was a report of a parachute sighting, but now that is questionable. His immediate family,e.g., my grandparents and my mother, have passed on and I still don't know anything about him. He was gone 7 years before I was born and it was too painful for my mother and grandmother to talk about till the day they died.

I would love to hear some stories, maybe see a picture or two??

Anyone remember Lynn Vachon from NH?

Comments: Hi, please be patient with me as I do not have alot of information. I am Lynn's wife. He lost everything in a fire years ago, Before I met him I would very much like to find information for him. Also uniform, jacket etc.. I would like to surprise him. All I know is he served in Korea I believe in 1950 to 54. He said when he first joined it was still called Army Air force. I believe he was also a gunner. Anyone remember him?
