Comments: Anyone remember serving with My father,Charles Steeneck, who was a communications specialist in the Chosen Resevior, wounded and survived. There was another communciations specialist in the jeep that was hit by mortar. Unsure of name. Would appreciate if anyone has any information. He has also mentioned his buddy Willie Laplante many times who was a Black Foot Indian. He is usure what happened to Willie. Would appreciate any information on him.

Comments: He was buried temporarily in the locality where death occured. He said in his last letter that he was in on the Wonson deal. A girl named Jackie was his girlfriend. He had inlisted Feb 3, 1947 Trained at Paris Island then was sent back to camp lejeune. I would like to hear from anyone who new him in anyway.

Leland may have been his first name, the date is correct. You didn't
say if he was listed as kia or mia, maybe no one knows for sure. I
remember him in 1949 at Camp Lejune, NC he would sing on long field
marches. He was a easy going and good natured Marine.
