Seeking anyone who served with Col. Homer L. Litzenberg Jr. or at Chosin

Comments: My grandfather was Col. (later Lt. Gen.) Homer Laurence Litzenberg Jr., commander of the 7th Marines at the Chosin Reservoir. I would very much like to make contact with anyone who knew him, either during that campaign or at any other time.

Comments: I served with Chief HC Waller Parker in the USNRED-12-3 in Richmond, Calif. in 1956 and again in 1961. He3 wqas employed by Shell refinery , Martinz , Calif. and lived in Rollingwood,Calif., which is near San Pablo and Richmond.

As a third class HC hereceived the NC and PH while serving with USMC at the " Frozen Chosin."

I have a tremendous respect for this man,and would like to make contact if he is still alive. My attempts to locate him were without positive results. Graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1953. He would be about 72 years of age now.

Remembering the Forgotten War

Comments: I am a Military History student at UNT and a former Marine. I am doing research on the Marines in the Korean War. I need to interview some Marine veterans of Korea who now live in Tarrant County, TX, or who lived there when they joined the Corps. Any phase of Korea is fine, 1950-1953. It is vital that the memories of those who were there are not left out of the historical record and too many people today forget or never knew what Korea was like. Jesus Uriarte Jr. of Corvallis

Died Friday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. He was 76.

He was born in California to Jesus Uriarte Sr. and Lupe Garcia. He married Ramona Sanchez in 1959.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1961, fought in the Battle of Chosan, and was awarded a Bronze Star in Korea. He served on the USS Lofberg DD-759 in 1952. He received a National Defense Service Medal, China Service Medal and United Nations Korean Service Medal.

Please help us keep his memory alive and show my mother inlaw he will always be remembered.

Comments: Iam trying to locate a friend I seerved with in the Air Force. He was in he seventh marines I believe in Korea. His whole unit was either killed or captured and he served three years in a POW camp. After his discharge from the MArine Corps he reenlisted in the Air Force. His name is Robert D Jones. He was from Decatur Illinois. Do you know what unit he may have been in? I cannot remember but he said his whole company was wiped out. Is there any way I can find him through the Marine Corps?
