Comments: My father, Robert Carpenter, served with Headquarters Sqdn, MAG-33 from August 1950 to July 1951. He was a radio operator and chief radio operator, first a serjeant, then a staff sgt. I would like to hear from anyone who can tell me what the history of that unit would have been or tell me where to find it. I have read US Marine Operations 1950-1953, but it focuses on 1st Marine Division. In Volume III, after Inchon, it never mentions MAG 33 at all, only MAG 12. I would appreciate any information. Thank you

Comments: Quoted from Laura Osterman's entry, 2006:

"I am looking for anyone who may have served with my father, John Kellen. He was stationed at K-3 from March 52-53. He was with the "Canhouse Commandos", Base Security. I'd love to surprise him with connections to some old friends."

My son, John Kellen's grandson LCpl Tsuffis, Brian is currently stationed at New River MCAS (MAG 26, MAL S26). My father was stationed at Cherry Point after leaving Korea in 1953. We would love to connect with anybody who remembers those days; dad would thoroughly enjoy it also.

Our goal is to open a museum about US occupation during Pacific War. I know that MAG 31 was here during WW2. Could you tell me more about that time in Wallis. Do you know some people who could share this time with us or have some pictures ? I've attended the last reunion of 8th AAA in Washington DC august 4th who were in Wallis from may 26 1942 to april 1946. I went there to get contacts and answer any questions marines may have and tell them that some people still think about their coming. Don't hesitate to ask me any question you may have. Sincerely

Marine Air Group 33

Hal,

I am trying to get any information about missing US Marine flyers that
may have been taken to Siberia. My father was shot down July 15, 1952
0315.

He is Master Sgt. Robert L Kappelmann #836776 and flew with Marine All
Weather Sqd 513, Marine Aircraft Group 33: 1st Marine Aircrft Wing FMF.

I have gone through most normal channels and even attended the MIA
hearing on the day set aside for Korean MIAs/POWs. Aside from learning
there was likely several boxcars of USA flyers sent to Siberria, I learn
little else.

If you can provide any information or suggest groups that might be
helpful I would appreciated it.

My Email address maybe changing to
kapprl@jea.ci.jax.fl.us

Sincerely,
Bob Kappelmann
